The Big Bad Wolf and A lot of Little Red-hooded People

Now there are seriously A LOT of stuff to write about this topic, but not to waste the poor reader's time, and, well, maintain his or her sanity, I'll try and be as concise as possible. So who's fault is it that the global economy has been declining like crazy in the past decade? Who is it that we should blame for Global Warming or "the lack of ethics" which is now an optimistic expression describing a waaaay worse situation! Who is it who's responsible for all the corruption?!

Well, let me tell you the manner you are asking these questions in your mind right now defines which side you're on. Are you trying to find an excuse for every fault you do? Or genuinely trying to solve a problem? You see, to approach such a question as "who's fault it is" you have to look to a ton aspects in society. The actions one person, two, a hundred compared to billions on Earth might be negligible. But one influential person: No. That's why it's always the person in charge who takes the blame. Although, everyone is "in charge" in some way or another, whether it's a parent trying to raise his/her children on what ethics and morals, or a person in his/her job,etc.., when it comes to the whole picture, when your judging a nation as a whole, the one really in charge would be the government.

True in a lot of cases, it's a government chosen by the people, but in the end the people are no psychics. So, by a democratic election, or heritage in a monarchy, those people who have the guts to call themselves our leaders, must live up to it. Yes, a president won't go after every person down the street throwing scolding them for throwing a piece of paper or every worker who took  bribe (although that would make a pretty good seen!). And that's why we're not in Heaven. Admit it, that pretty picture we all have for "a perfect government" won't happen! Snap out of it! Sorry to have to break the news for you, but it ain't happening my friend. There will always be those "under the table"deals and the black market etc.. Those stuff are everywhere. What differentiates a successful country from another, though, is the percentage of such corruption. And here comes the bride ehm, ehm) government. You see, people are not born angels in one country and devils in another. The same people who throw the trash all over the street in one country, are the most respectful when they travel abroad. Why? Because of a strict set of laws they are forced to follow. Don't you often hear the expression "If each one of us does bla bla, we would be bla bla bla"? And you know what happens in the end? Nothing! Why do you think I'm sitting googling Universities from all over the World instead of taking the first step, my SAT's? Because I am, like all human beings, lazy! You see, we all act based on a set of incentives. And unless we are faced with some big issue to urge us into action, we stay wherever we stand. We never unite but in trouble as history has proven time and again.. So unless faced with a government that enforces strict laws, we never act on our own. And if a government is corrupt, those who are against such a corrupt government never act just because.. why? Because they're afraid? Or are they just lazy? Or again like in everything else in life they are afraid of  "going against the flow". And then come the people who do rebel just "to go against the flow" with no good reason! So even those fail because they are after nothing but attention. So we end up right where we started, waiting for the next big thing - that will never come. That's why an organized  government is needed to guide people, urge them into action, put every person in his or her rightful position so that he/she can benefit the society. We have the raw material, but we need the manufacturer; we need someone to urge us to act. And they seem to want their positions so hard don't they? They benefit a million from their leading positions, but again they carry a burden like no other, so they have to be up to it. (something I learned the hard way after running for Student President and winning). All I'm saying is it's a package: You either take the leading position with all its responsibilities, or leave it. No one can blame the people afterwards for criticizing your actions. People aren't all good or bad either, they just need someone to lead the way...

And what if that "someone" doesn't come? We have to  learn to go out there and get "him/her"! Coming up in the next post about "Rebellion", Good? Bad? What do you think?
